London, UK, April 12, 2016 Neos Networks, the UK’s leading provider of network infrastructure services, and part of the SSE Group – today announced it has extended its national fibre network to connect Colt’s London, Welwyn Garden City data centre. Customers at the facility now have access to Neos Networks’ range of low latency, high capacity optical connectivity and fibre services.

Situated just 40km from the centre of London, Colt’s state of the art Tier III facility is ideally located for enterprises that want to do business in London, but are concerned about the business continuity risks of locating their IT equipment in the Capital. Neos Networks’ latest network expansion is in direct response to exceptional customer demand for reliable, high-capacity optical wavelengths at this strategically located UK data centre.

“We are delighted to have Neos Networks join the community of more than 12 international and local carriers that we currently host at our modular data centre site in Welwyn Garden City,” said Wasif Khan, asset management specialist, Colt Data Centre Services. “As a carrier neutral co-location provider, it is of the utmost importance that all our customers have a choice of low latency, resilient connection providers. With Neos Networks’ UK fibre network, excellent engineering and our innovative data centre designs, we can assure a seamless connected co-location service to our customers.”

“We are committed to investing in our network to provide the most resilient network options in the market,” said Colin Sempill, managing director at Neos Networks. “High quality engineering is in our blood and we’re proud to connect data centres of the calibre of Colt’s Welwyn Garden City facility. Our ongoing expansion plan is dedicated to connecting sites of most relevance to our growing customer base. The class of connectivity we offer is engineered to underpin high-volume, critical communications, so is ideal for organisations that depend on low-latency applications, such as those used in the financial services sector.”

“Thanks to new trends like the Internet of Things (IoT) and the increasing use of the cloud, connectivity demands are on the rise. Now more than ever, it is essential that the UK has a reliable telecoms infrastructure that is capable of supporting the vast number of services that rely on the Internet. At Neos Networks, we fully embrace our role in the UK’s digital transformation, which is why we will continue to expand the reach of our network into more UK postcodes and leading data centre facilities,” concluded Sempill.

This expansion of Neos Networks’ fibre network is the latest of a number of substantial investments including Edge 2, which will add 33 BT exchanges to the company’s existing 12,000+km, 232 Point of Presence (PoP) UK-wide fibre network from Q2 2016. As well as investing in its network footprint, Neos Networks is also dedicated to providing the highest quality services possible. For example, its LIGHTNOW service, which offers optical wavelength connectivity deployed in just one week, is available in 23 of London’s busiest data centres and nine in Manchester.

We are delighted to have Neos Networks join the community of more than 12 international and local carriers that we currently host at our modular data centre site in Welwyn Garden City.
