Neos Networks was the first operator to launch Ethernet WAN services in the UK over ten years ago and since then has continued to develop the technology even further.
With cloud computing making greater demands on networks for speed, low latency and high reliability, Neos Networks is introducing ever faster core and access network technology. Neos Networks owns and operates one of the largest telecoms and data centre networks in the UK. The company specialises in high-capacity Ethernet, wavelengths, fibre services and co-location for network operators, cloud service providers and systems integrators. As part of the recent improvements, existing routers were upgraded with minimum service interruption by using Alcatel-Lucent 7750 service routers. SSE’s choice of partner was based on the strong operational performance and rich feature set of the product.
Commenting on the latest expansion, Chris Jagusz, Managing Director of Neos Networks, said: “This network enhancement highlights Neos Networks’ ambition to keep developing our portfolio of high capacity services. Alcatel was a natural partner for us in this project – they have worked with us to push technological boundaries and provide the coverage, flexibility and reliability that customers expect.”
