Neos Networks partners with Fujitsu to provide a national dark fibre network

  • Neos Networks

Under the initial ten year agreement Neos Networks will provide Fujitsu with a 1,400km national fibre network linking London, Reading, Bristol, Birmingham, Leicester, Leeds and Manchester.

Fujitsu also gains access to Neos Networks’ extensive 5,000km fibre network and nationwide co-location sites to support its network expansion plans.

Since the network first became operational, Fujitsu has utilised more than 2,500km of fibre network enabling 100Gbit/s data on Fujitsu’s Managed Wavelength Service (MWS). Fujitsu customers benefit from its high capacity, low latency network to support current and emergent cloud computing applications. Neos Networks led the way in a competitive tender process through its network reach, flexibility and creativity in meeting Fujitsu’s requirements.

Chris Jagusz, Managing Director of Neos Networks said: “This is an important partnership for Neos Networks, which demonstrates our capability as a national network and data centre provider. I believe our ability to offer a flexible and responsive service helped us develop our relationship with Fujitsu, and we look forward to a long and successful working partnership.”

Andy Stevenson, CEO of Fujitsu Telecommunications said: “With Fujitsu’s extensive experience in the fibre and co-location arena it was essential that our partners could add value to our proposition. Neos Networks worked with Fujitsu in a collaborative manner to form a complete understanding of the commercials, deployment, operational risks and pitfalls around such a network. It is this collaborative approach that has and continues to be instrumental in the success of the continued expansion of our MWS service to deliver carrier class managed services to our customers.”
