Latest phase of network expansion brings high performance services to key enterprise hubs.
London, 3 April 2014: Neos Networks, the UK’s leading provider of network infrastructure and data centre services, and part of the SSE Group, today announced that an additional 30 points of presence (PoPs), which offer up to 10Gb capacity per customer connection, are now live. Predominantly located in and around central London, but also in Birmingham, Cambridge, Coventry, Derby, Edinburgh, Leeds, Slough and Windsor, these PoPs will help meet the growing demand for Neos Networks’ high performance networking services.
This is the latest phase of Neos Networks’ major network expansion, dubbed Project Edge, and adds to the 24 new PoPs that went live in November 2013. All 54 PoPs are located in central business districts and provide an ever deeper presence into the UK’s busiest towns and cities, bringing high performance yet affordable connectivity solutions right to the doorsteps of the UK’s largest and most demanding organisations.
The Project Edge investment also saw Neos Networks launch its LIGHTNOW service – a new high-capacity, ultra-resilient optical network solution connecting 21 of London’s busiest data centres with 10Gb Ethernet wavelengths that can be provisioned within seven days.
Neos Networks delivers high availability connectivity to customers with no tolerance for downtime or failure, including Thomson Reuters, E.ON and Janet. Project Edge has extended the reach of Neos Networks’ UK fibre network to more than 12,000+km, with a total of 234 PoPs serving over 200,000 metropolitan business postcodes. This not only makes it cost-effective, but the Neos Networks Carrier Ethernet and Optical networking services overlay make the new network one of the most highly specified in the market today.
